VISIT SEATTLE / KING COUNTY RECOVERY
DO SOMETHING
The Problem:
In 2020, COVID struck Seattle first. 100 million-dollars of tourism was lost overnight.
Visit Seattle’s problem was clear—no one was visiting Seattle. People were barely “visiting” their mailboxes.
The Solution:
Get our locals to step out, mask up, and Do Something to save their neighborhood favorites.
We created an online dashboard. A single source of real-time data on the ever-shifting openings and closings of local businesses, encouraging people, no matter their comfort level, to safely find things to do nearby.
We re-introduced King County citizens to their beloved restauranteurs, shop owners, barbers, one forgotten hero at a time.
The Results:
It worked. We started a county-wide conversation that racked up over 7.7 million views.
We brought over 5,600 new in-person customers in the first month alone, with 66M impressions and a 97% completion rate.
We didn’t need tourists, we just needed locals to Do Something.
